About
Brace yourself for LongHu…!
On stage Nick dons his armour, a sparkly jacket and a pair of stunning high heels, and then become the most aggressively gay bloke you are ever likely to see on stage.
Nick describes LongHu as the arsehole he wished he was growing up as he would have been bullied less.
Which is surprising as Nick is genuinely one of the nicest guys we’ve talked to, happy to help and willing to chip in.
Backstory
Nick has lived a lot of lives that has taken him to all sorts of places both geographically and with his mental health.
As a kid he worked as a waiter - which of course logically led to him being an Operator Maintainer Tactical Submariner (OM TSM) on the Royal Navy’s Vanguard class Submarines that carry the UK’s Nuclear Deterrent.
This lead to a nervous breakdown - so logically his next job was to be a care worker for elderly people with learning difficulties.
Obviously the next logical step was to move to Glasgow and work in security from football matches to casino doors.
So this led to the only other possible career choice…! Kindergarten teacher in China…!
He was now in a country where he didn’t speak the language and had no experience of the culture. But something must have stuck because he lived there for 9 years meeting his husband and starting his journey into comedy.
Benefits of doing stand up
Nick used his comedy journey to heal the wounds of childhood and breakdowns that ended his naval career and hindered his work in security.
Although Nick does admit there is probably some damage he has yet to address he doesn’t let it stop him.
Nick says:
I suffer from anxiety and crave quietly wittling wood in my back garden but that isn’t going healthy anything so I don something that makes me feel good and put myself out there and with every succcess I stand a little taller although the 8inch heels do really help with that…"
